Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has admitted to sometimes questioning himself, even as the club endures a troubling period on the pitch.
For the third consecutive Europa League match, United led but failed to win as Fenerbahce secured a 1-1 draw in Istanbul on Thursday.
Onana was one of the better performers for United against Jose Mourinho’s men, with his most notable contribution being a remarkable double-save in the first half that kept his side in the game.

In truth, the Cameroonian has been good all season but despite this, he revealed that he still questions himself.
The United shot-stopper spoke to Nathan Salt of The Daily Mail and said, “It will come, you know, it will come. ‘Everything in life is temporary. It will come, if not today. It will be tomorrow.”
When asked whether the responsibility to overturn the situation falls largely on the manager and his attacking players, Onana disagreed and insisted that the onus is on every member of the squad.
“Also us as defenders, we have to take responsibility. We were leading one up, and I start to question myself, because to do maybe things better, my defenders as well. I don’t think we have to look at the strikers because they are trying.”
“The chances are there and at the moment the ball is not going in the net, but it will come. We lose together. We win together.”
Onana added, “I think we are the second or the third position (for chances created), and the most important thing is the creating chances. So if we don’t create any chance, then we all have to worry. But the chances are there. They start there, so we have to be patient. And I know my guys, that’s what they train for. And I’m very happy, the way they fight.”
The 28-year-old insisted, “We just have to stick together which we have been doing. We can fight until the end, and I think, I’m sure it will turn and when it does we are going to come out with a big smile.”
He explained that he and his teammates are determined to make things right as fast as possible in an effort to appease their loyal fans.
Up next for United and Onana is a Sunday trip to London to take on Julen Lopetegui’s West Ham.
