Andreescu Climbs 65 Spots in Rankings Despite Tough Final Defeat

Andreescu 'Not Complaining' After Reaching Semi-Final In Her Second Tournament Back

Bianca Andreescu had a successful run at the 2024 Libema Open, reaching the final and is set to climb 65 spots on the WTA Rankings due to her performance.

After missing most of the year with injuries, the Canadian made a comeback at Roland Garros. Her absence was due to her focus on returning to full health, which was evident in her gameplay.

Following some strong showings in Paris, Andreescu had an impressive week in the Netherlands at the Libema Open, including notable victories over players like Naomi Osaka.

Despite her efforts, she fell short in the final to Liudmila Samsonova, who staged a comeback after dropping the first set.

While she didn’t clinch the title in Den Bosch, Andreescu’s rankings jump is a testament to her hard work and dedication, following her last major win at the 2019 US Open.

The added 113 points from her performance in Den Bosch have propelled her 65 spots up the WTA Rankings to number 163, from her previous position at world no. 228.

While she aims for higher rankings, Andreescu’s consistent level of play suggests a swift return to the Top 50 in the near future.
