Andy Murray sent some good wishes to his Davis Cup teammates after a brutal loss to Serbia in the Final Eight stage.
Great Britain had high hopes of this year’s Davis Cup competition but bad luck hampered the team in their pursuit to win the trophy. On paper, the country has one of the more balanced teams with a couple of great singles and doubles players.
They have a good mix of young and veteran players as well, but unfortunately, injuries proved to be a factor. Daniel Evans withdrew due to injury a few weeks ago, and Andy Murray had to withdraw from the competition as well.
Jack Draper and Cameron Norrie were the ones who played, but both lost, which sent Serbia into the semi-finals. Murray was gutted to miss out on the Davis Cup Final Eight because we don’t really know how many times he’ll be able to play in the competition.
There was wide speculation that this was going to be the last time, but with the way it ended, perhaps he elects to give it one more try.
In any case, he sent some good wishes to his teammates after the loss and praised the British fans for making the trip to Malaga to create a pretty good atmosphere at the event.

The fans actually became part of a controversy after they disturbed Djokovic’s post-match interview. The Serbian had to tell them off, which became a viral moment.
We’ll see if Murray does return to the competition next year, as this year’s conclusion probably left a sour taste in his mouth.
