With the Kansas City Chiefs sorely lacking at the wide receiver position during the 2023 NFL season, the back-to-back Super Bowl champions were determined to upgrade the position during the offseason, and it appears they were able to do just that.

Along with bringing back Mecole Hardman for another year, the team was able to sign Marquise Brown in NFL free agency and then drafted the current record holder for the fastest time in the 40-yard dash in the NFL combine.

Not only was the Chiefs brass able to land a go-to guy in the passing game alongside superstar Travis Kelce with the addition of Brown, but they have finally found someone that can replace the speed and deep threat that was Tyreek Hill by bringing in Xavier Worthy, formerly of the University of Texas.

The former Longhorns star will be a valuable asset for the Chiefs moving forward if he can live up to the hype of being arguably the fastest player in the NFL and become a reliable target for superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Unfortunately, Worthy’s NFL career has begun with a bit of a hiccup as he’s been dealing with a hamstring issue, but head coach Andy Reid addressed the injury this weekend and believes the rookie wide receiver is trending in the right direction via Steven St. John of New Day with SSJ.

“He’s been working hard. It looks like his hamstring feels better. Just got to keep him going here. … He did a nice job today,” Reid said.

The Chiefs offense can become a juggernaut once again if Brown and Worthy turn out to be a dynamic duo downfield and Kelce continues to produce at a high level for Kansas City.

The defending champions will be chasing history in 2024, with Mahomes and company having the opportunity to be the first team in NFL history to win three straight titles.
