Ange Postecoglou expresses disappointment at Arsenal defeat: “Unacceptable at this level”

Tottenham lost ground in the race for Champions League qualification after losing the north London derby to Arsenal.

Spurs endured a disastrous first half and found themselves 3-0 down at the break thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz and an own goal from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Postecoglou’s men showed more fight and resilience in the second half and pulled a goal back through Cristian Romero, who capitalized on a mistake from David Raya in the Arsenal goal.

Heung-Min Son pulled another back from the penalty spot in the 87th minute, but Spurs couldn’t pull off a famous comeback.

Postecoglou admitted after the game it wasn’t “acceptable at this level” to allow Arsenal to score such easy goals.

The defeat leaves Spurs seven points behind Aston Villa in fourth, having played two games less than their rivals for a top-four finish.
