Announcement of Finalists for the 2023-24 Coach of the Year Award

2023-24 Coach Of The Year Finalists Announced

The NBA has revealed the finalists for the 2023-24 Coach of the Year award. The contenders include Mark Daigneault from the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chris Finch from the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Jamahl Mosley from the Orlando Magic.

Daigneault steered the Thunder to the top regular season record in the Western Conference. The team’s remarkable improvement from 40 wins to 57 wins secured them the top seed in the playoffs after falling short in the Play-In Tournament the previous year.

Finch successfully led the Timberwolves to a significant turnaround, moving from 42 wins and the eighth seed to 56 wins and the third seed in the tough Western Conference.

Mosley’s coaching efforts resulted in the Magic clinching their first playoff appearance since 2020. Under his guidance, Orlando progressed from 22 wins in 2021-22 to 34 wins last season and an impressive 47 wins this season. Additionally, the Magic claimed the Southeast Division title for the first time since 2018-19.
