Anthony Davis Calls Out Former Lakers’ Player for Reckless Play Following Back Spasms

Anthony Davis Calls Out Former Lakers’ Player for Reckless Play Following Back Spasms

Anthony Davis suffered back spasms in the game after a collision with Larry Nance Jr., leading to an early exit.

Nance made contact with Davis in the fourth quarter while he attempted a putback layup, causing Davis to clutch his lower back in pain.

Despite initially staying on the court, Davis eventually had to leave to stretch out his back.

After the game, Lakers coach Darvin Ham stated that Davis had a back spasm, but it was not a major concern.

Davis agreed with his coach’s assessment and criticized Nance for the dangerous play.

He explained, “He gave me a little shove in the back. My back just locked up on me. Nothing concerning.

“I was in the air. So, obviously it’s a dangerous play. I know he’s not a dirty player. But I’m in the air and then get shoved in the back. Hyperextension. It just locks up. Nothing that concerns me, though. …

“No doubt that I’m gonna play. Just see how it feels the rest of the day; I’ll have to get massages, get some treatment … keep loose. See how I feel over the next 24, 36 hours and get ready for Tuesday.”

The Lakers will stay in New Orleans for their upcoming Play-In matchup on Tuesday.

Despite the win on Sunday, Anthony Davis and LeBron James are aware of the challenges that come with the postseason.

Even with the injury, Davis had an impressive performance with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.
