The Los Angeles Lakers secured the last semifinal spot in the NBA In-Season Tournament, edging past the Phoenix Suns with a hard-fought 106-103 victory.
While LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the charge with 31 and 27 points, respectively, it was Austin Reaves who emerged as a pivotal player.
Coming off the bench, Reaves contributed 20 points and delivered a critical three-pointer in the fourth quarter with the Lakers leading 102-101.
Anthony Davis praised Reaves in a postgame statement, emphasizing the team’s trust and confidence in the emerging player.
“He’s made countless big shots for us. We trust him. We have a lot of confidence in him,” said Davis, via Mike Trudell.
The Lakers will now advance to the In-Season Tournament semifinals, where they are set to face the New Orleans Pelicans in Las Vegas.
