Anthony Edwards gives his thoughts on Mavericks dominant win over Timberwolves in Game 5

Anthony Edwards expressed his disappointment from losing in the Western Conference Finals, attributing it to his team’s inability to reach their potential against the Dallas Mavericks.

“We never clicked all together as a team in this series, not even one game,” Edwards remarked. “The last two series, we were all clicking at one time, making shots and stuff. It wasn’t clicking at one time here.”

Despite the outcome, Edwards remained positive about his team’s future, stating, “We’ll be back next year.”

“It’s fun man I love it,” he said. “… I’m looking forward to being right back in this situation next year.”

After an impressive postseason performance in the first two rounds, Edwards struggled to keep up with Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and the Dallas Mavericks in the conference finals.

Doncic and Irving both scored 36 points each as Dallas secured a 124-103 victory to close out the series in five games.

“We got a great team, but most importantly we have great guys,” Doncic commented postgame. “We stay together, and we just play basketball.”

The Mavericks are now set to face the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals.

“As a kid that’s what you dream of; getting to The Finals and being able to play against the best of the best with the whole world watching,” Irving shared.

Game 1 of The Finals will take place in Boston on June 6.
