Additionally, before the match against Qarabag, Slot suggested that Liverpool’s league title win last season was aided by their early exit from the Champions League, which allowed for a lighter schedule compared to competing teams.
Slot remarked that perhaps the reason Liverpool secured the league title last season was their defeat against PSG in the UCL.
These remarks have attracted criticism, with club icon Steven Gerrard publicly rejecting Slot’s claims.
