Arsenal eyeing summer move for striker who has 15 goals this season

Arsenal eyeing summer move for striker who has 15 goals this season

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Artem Dovbyk from La Liga club Girona this summer.

The Gunners are reportedly interested in Artem Dovbyk, according to a report from the Spanish publication Fichajes.

Going into the summer transfer window, the Gunners are looking for a striker. They plan to sign the 26-year-old attacker from high-flying La Liga team Girona.

This season, Artem Dovbyk has shown to be one of the top players in La Liga. The international player from Ukraine moved to Girona from SK Dnipro-1 at the start of this season, and he has made his team title contenders against giants like Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Girona moved up to second place in the rankings thanks to the 26-year-old, who has been among La Liga’s top scorers this season. They will be hoping for a top-four finish even if winning the league may be a hard ask.

Dovbyk’s 15 goals and 7 assists in 28 games have contributed to Girona’s extraordinary rise.

Several elite teams around Europe have taken note of the striker’s development and output this season.

The former forward for SK Dnipro-1 is attracting interest from Premier League heavyweights in particular, and Arsenal have entered the competition to sign him during the summer transfer window.

An efficient striker is what the Gunners are looking for as the summer transfer window approaches. Despite having Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus in his lineup, Mikel Arteta’s attackers have not shown much output in terms of goal scoring.

Thus, Arsenal need to sign a center-forward with a good production level before the 2024–2025 campaign begins.

The other strikers being eyed by Arsenal are Brentford’s Ivan Toney, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.

Whether Girona can win La Liga or not, they will have trouble hanging on to their best players, such as Dovbyk and Aleix Garcia.

It would also be intriguing to watch whether Arsenal are able to convince him to leave Catalonia during the summer transfer window.
