Arsenal in pole position ahead of Manchester United for top attacking transfer target

Arsenal favourites over Manchester United for big-name attacker transfer

Arsenal are reportedly still viewed as the favourites for the potential transfer of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko next summer, despite Manchester United also showing an interest in the player.

The talented young Slovenia international has become regarded as one of the finest forwards in Europe in recent times, and attracted plenty of transfer rumours over the summer just gone, even if he ultimately ended up staying and signing a new contract at Leipzig.

As CaughtOffside recently reported, Arsenal remain confident over Sesko, but other names could also come into their thinking in the months ahead, with plenty of time still to go until summer 2025.

According to the latest from Give Me Sport, Arsenal are still seen as the favourites for Sesko as he seemed to show a preference towards moving to the Emirates Stadium when he was still mulling over his future this year, even if he then decided to stay at Leipzig for a bit longer.

Sesko transfer: Could he end up at Man United over Arsenal?

Still, the report from Give Me Sport also mentions Man Utd’s interest in the 21-year-old, and one imagines the Red Devils will be keen to continue their recent policy of recruiting top young players for the future.

Sesko would certainly fit the bill, but one key factor could be the development of players like Ramus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee this season, with these two young attacking players surely capable of being long-term options to lead the line for Erik ten Hag’s side.
