Arsenal Finalizes Piero Hincapie’s Permanent Transfer

After a successful loan spell, Arsenal is set to secure Piero Hincapie on a permanent basis at the end of the current season. Mikel Arteta has expressed satisfaction with the defender’s impactful performances since his arrival.
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, an agreement is already in place, and Hincapie will officially join on a long-term contract when the transfer window opens in the summer. Bayer Leverkusen will receive a transfer fee of €52 million for the Ecuadorian international.
Hincapie: A Valued Addition to Arsenal’s Future
Arsenal aims to fortify its squad, and Hincapie’s versatility as both a central defender and full-back makes him an asset for the club moving forward. Romano confirmed on his YouTube channel, “Piero Hincapie will be the first official signing for Arsenal in the summer of 2026. This transfer was part of the plan right from the beginning, similar to how they approached the David Raya deal with Brentford.”
Romano continued, “A loan was arranged with an option to buy, and it has now been activated. Hincapie has already signed a five-year contract with Arsenal, solidifying his status as a permanent member of the team.”
Looking Ahead for Hincapie
With his long-term future secured, Hincapie can now concentrate on his role at Arsenal. He faces the challenge of breaking into a competitive starting lineup filled with talented defenders. Establishing himself as a regular will require consistent performances, but he is certainly capable of rising to the occasion.
