Arsenal Sets Sights on Premier League Trio as Arteta Readies Major Overhauln

Arsenal Target Newcastle’s Tino Livramento

As Arsenal works to strengthen their squad for both domestic competitions and European contests, the club is reportedly focusing on St James’ Park for potential talent. Sources indicate that the Gunners are keeping an eye on Newcastle United’s full-back, Tino Livramento.

Currently, Newcastle sits in 12th place in the Premier League and faces the reality of potentially missing out on European football next season. This precarious situation may lead to a significant player sale during the summer transfer window.

Arsenal seems well-positioned to take advantage of Newcastle’s financial challenges, particularly with Livramento being a top target for their defensive lineup.

Interest in a New Full-Back

The Gunners’ interest in the 23-year-old is largely influenced by the uncertain future of Ben White, who is reportedly exploring options for more consistent playing time. Arsenal’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, views Livramento as a perfect long-term successor for the right-back position.

While Livramento is known for his talent and offensive capabilities, his current season has been plagued by injuries, which is causing Arsenal to thoroughly assess his medical history before making a commitment.

Arsenal’s Broader Ambitions

Livramento is not the only player from Newcastle being considered by Arsenal. The club’s ambitious plans for the summer may involve pursuing several players from the Magpies.

Arsenal has shown sustained interest in winger Anthony Gordon, having contemplated a move for him as far back as the summer of 2024. Additionally, midfielder Sandro Tonali has surfaced as a possible target to enhance Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Should Newcastle miss out on Champions League qualification, Tonali could be inclined to leave, with Arsenal having conducted preliminary discussions with his representatives earlier this year. However, Newcastle is reportedly maintaining a high asking price of around £100 million for both Gordon and Tonali, making negotiations challenging.

The Gunners appear ready to capitalize on Newcastle’s current vulnerability as they seek to finalize their championship-winning roster.
