Arteta Fuels Rumors of Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Return to Arsenal
Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has ignited transfer rumors by hinting at the possibility of bringing back former player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. During a press briefing on Monday in anticipation of the Carabao Cup semi-final clash with Chelsea, Arteta revealed the club is “exploring every option” to strengthen a midfield that is currently struggling with depth.
The 32-year-old, who is a free agent, has been training with Arsenal since November to stay in shape and is eligible to sign with a club even outside the transfer window.
When asked whether Oxlade-Chamberlain might be offered a short-term deal, Arteta provided a vague yet optimistic response, saying, “We need to do everything that we possibly can to see if we have a player that is available. If we don’t, we keep what we have.”
The speculation around Oxlade-Chamberlain’s potential return stems from the ongoing need for players, given the current challenges within the team’s roster.
