Arteta's High Hopes: Romano Reveals Arsenal's Exciting Transfer Pursuit!n

Arsenal Eyes Marc Guehi Transfer Amid Competition

Arsenal has its sights set on Marc Guehi.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Arsenal is considering a transfer for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. The English player, 25, has also drawn interest from Manchester City, but he appears to be taking his time deciding on his next move.

In a recent update on his YouTube channel, Romano indicated that Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta holds Guehi in high regard. It seems that Arsenal’s strategy might focus on acquiring him during the summer transfer window, while Manchester City is likely eager to sign him sooner to address the absence of injured defenders Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol.

Romano further commented, “Arteta is a significant admirer of Guehi. That’s one of the reasons behind Arsenal’s interest. However, they already have several players covering that position, which complicates things.” He also noted that Liverpool has expressed interest, recalling an agreement from last summer, stating, “Liverpool is still very much in the picture for Guehi, making this a situation to keep an eye on.”

Will Arsenal Make Room for Guehi?

With Arsenal’s defense already boasting several top-tier players, it’s challenging to envision how Guehi would integrate into Arteta’s plans. Meanwhile, both Manchester City and Liverpool might offer him a more prominent role.

Arsenal currently has a solid first-choice center-back pairing in William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, alongside promising backup options like Piero Hincapie, Riccardo Calafiori, and Cristhian Mosquera.

Legendary defender Sol Campbell has endorsed the possibility of bringing Guehi to Arsenal. In a statement to Sky Bet, he remarked, “Marc Guehi at Crystal Palace is an outstanding player. I know Liverpool is interested in him. That’s a player I would definitely look into.”
