Aston Villa eye surprise move for Manchester United’s top target Jean-Clair Todibo – Latest news on Man United’s plans and transfers

The shockingly low price for Jean-Clair Todibo is revealed - Man United News And Transfer News

Aston Villa are reportedly eyeing a move for long-term Manchester United target Jean-Clair Todibo.

United’s interest in Todibo can be traced back to last summer when a potential switch to Old Trafford was discussed. However, the deal fell through as it was dependent on Harry Maguire’s departure to West Ham, which did not materialize.

United still admire Todibo and are looking to make a move for him in the upcoming transfer window.

The player himself is open to joining the Red Devils. In an interview last month, he expressed his desire to play for a bigger club and compete for top honors and trophies.

The Cayenne-born star mentioned that a summer transfer is on his mind and a viable option.

He further discussed life under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS at OGC Nice in a recent interview, fueling speculation that a move to United could be facilitated due to Ratcliffe’s ownership of the club.

A recent report from The Peoples Person revealed that Todibo could be available for £21 million, significantly lower than the initial valuation of £40 million.

Aside from United, other clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid are also interested in signing Todibo. L’Equipe, a French newspaper, now reports that Aston Villa under Unai Emery have entered the race to secure Todibo’s services.

Villa can offer Todibo Champions League football, and with Diego Carlos potentially leaving, Todibo could secure a starting position in Emery’s team.

Villa is also interested in Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo, another player on United’s radar.

In the 2023/24 season, Todibo made 30 appearances for Nice, helping the team secure 15 clean sheets.
