The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were able to hold serve in the NFC South last season by winning the division just one season after the retirement of Tom Brady.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield turned in the best season of his career by throwing for over 4,000 yards for the first time, as well as putting up a career-high 28 touchdowns through the air.

If not for Joe Flacco in Cleveland, Mayfield possibly could have been named NFL Comeback Player of the Year.

Recently, Mayfield was seen at a local Tampa Bay high school running a youth football camp and chatted with local media about how he has been able to stay in shape this off-season.

“I’m definitely in the best shape I’ve been in a long time…Just found my routine, found a gym and some trainers that I really liked…Being able to stay in one place in the offseason helps too,” Mayfield said.

Staying in shape at the NFL level matters, especially if you are the franchise quarterback.

Mayfield certainly is that after he inked a three-year extension worth up to $100 million with the organization after a very solid 2023 campaign.

Now, Tampa is looking to repeat as NFC South winners once again and possibly go further in the playoffs.

Remember, they ended up dismantling the 2022 NFC Super Bowl representatives in the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round of the playoffs last season.

This team is quietly one of the better teams in the conference and could be even better with a slimmed-down Mayfield under center.
