Barcelona Launches Fourth Kit, Celebrating Iconic Clásico Victory
FC Barcelona has unveiled its new fourth alternate jersey, designed to honor a legendary victory against Real Madrid from 20 years ago. The kit, presented with the motto “Football is Art,” features a fresh take on the classic Barcelona home colors, with reimagined blaugrana stripes that pay tribute to one of the club’s most memorable performances.
This remarkable match occurred on November 19, 2005, at the Bernabéu Stadium, where Barcelona triumphed 3-0 over their rivals. The result not only solidified Barcelona’s position at the top of La Liga but also showcased an incredible display of skill from a team managed by Frank Rijkaard, with a young Lionel Messi among the players on the field.
Despite not controlling possession, Barcelona delivered an electrifying performance that left the home fans in awe, especially as Ronaldinho dazzled with a stunning display. Samuel Eto’o opened the scoring early in the match, followed by two remarkable goals from Ronaldinho, the second of which earned him a standing ovation from the home crowd, a rare honor for an opposing player.
The design of the new fourth kit features jagged stripes reminiscent of the dynamic movements Eto’o and Ronaldinho executed through the Madrid defense during that iconic match. The minutes of their goals—14, 58, and 77—are printed inside the collar as a nod to their achievements that night.
