Hapoel Holon (Winner League) agreed terms with 27-year old Canadian point guard Elijah Mitrou-Long (185cm-86kg-1996, college: UNLV) for new 2024-25 season. Mitrou-Long played this summer at Brampton in Canadian CEBL. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In three CEBL games just recently he had very impressive stats: 19.7ppg, 3.3rpg, 4.3apg and 1.3spg. The last season he played at Peristeri in Greek GBL where in 32 games he recorded 10.1ppg, 2.2rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1spg. Mitrou-Long helped them to make it to the semifinals. Quite impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Greek GBL Honorable Mention. He also played 19 games in Basketball Champions League where he averaged 8.7ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.9apg.
Mitrou-Long has played also professionally in Bulgaria (Levski) and Greece (Aris, PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki and Apollon Patras) and Canada (River Lions).
Mitrou-Long’s team was regular season runner-up in MWC in 2020.
He graduated from University of Nevada – Las Vegas in 2020 and it will be his fifth season as a professional player. Mitrou-Long played for other colleges like: The University of Texas, Mount Saint Mary’s University.
