Baskonia advances to playoffs after defeating Virtus

Markus Howard’s impressive 28-point performance led Baskonia to secure the final spot in the EuroLeague playoffs with a thrilling 89-77 victory over Virtus in the second round.

After a five-year absence from the playoffs, Baskonia is celebrating their return with key contributions from Matt Costello (19 points) and Tadas Sedekerskis (16 points).

Despite a strong effort from Virtus, led by Toko Shengelia’s 16 points, Baskonia’s determination and execution proved to be too much to overcome.

As they prepare for the playoffs, Baskonia is now focusing on a challenging series against top-seeded Real Madrid, which kicks off on Tuesday, April 23, at WiZink Center.
