Beau Hossler and Robert MacIntyre share the top spot in golf tournament

Beau Hossler, Robert MacIntyre tied for lead

132 golfers are competing this week in the inaugural Myrtle Beach Classic, with the golf world’s attention also on the Wells Fargo Championship and the Cognizant Founders Cup where Nelly Korda is going for a record sixth LPGA win in a row.

The field includes Matt Wallace, Erik van Rooyen, Kevin Kisner, Sam Ryder, Brandt Snedeker, and Joel Dahmen.

After 18 holes at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club, Beau Hossler and Robert MacIntyre are tied for the lead with 7-under 64s.

Hossler had a strong stretch of birdie-birdie-eagle-bogey-birdie on holes 11 through 15 before finishing with consecutive pars. MacIntyre, one of the few lefties on Tour, had eight birdies and just one bogey. Both players are in search of their first PGA Tour win, with Hossler playing his 189th PGA Tour event and MacIntyre aiming for a breakthrough victory.

So far in 2024, there have been five first-time winners on the PGA Tour.
