Belinda Bencic is ready to continue her career, just six months after giving birth to baby girl Bella in April. The former World No.4 says she’ll start with a wild card into a ITF event in Hamburg, which begins on October 28, before joining Team Switzerland for their Billie Jean King Cup Playoff tie against Serbia on November 15-16.

27-year-old Bencic says she hopes to use the competition to test her level, as she plans to rejoin the tour in 2025.

Bencic’s last match came at San Diego last September.

“I’m not yet at the absolute peak of my tennis and fitness level, but I feel really good and ready to compete,” the eight-time WTA title winner said. “I want to test myself in a competitive setting to see what we need to work on to start the next season in top form. We also want to see how we can logistically manage everyday life at the tournament with Bella.”
