The Cincinnati Bengals are looking to jump back into the playoff picture after missing the postseason in 2023.
Cincinnati had to go through the Kansas City Chiefs to make it to the Super Bowl during the 2021 season. The two teams have built somewhat of a rivalry on the field and it’s safe to say that the same could be said for the gamesmanship that both teams have shown off of it. Bengals Swipe Amarius Mims Before Chiefs
While the Chiefs were well on their way to attempting to trade up to select Georgia tackle Amarius Mims, the Bengals were prowling, per The Athletic’s Nate Taylor. Cincinnati ended up picking Mims with the No. 18 selection and added to a tackle group that already consists of Orlando Brown Jr. and Trent Brown.
“Midway through the first round, (Brett) Veach and (Mike) Borgonzi began calling teams to find a trade partner that would allow them to move up more than 10 spots,” Taylor wrote. “The first prospect the Chiefs targeted was Amarius Mims, the tackle from Georgia. Although Mims played right tackle in college, many teams believed he had the talent to be a starting left tackle. The Cincinnati Bengals selected Mims with the 18th pick.”

Orlando Brown Jr. and Ted Karras Meet With Mims
Brown and fellow lineman Ted Karras want to be a resource for Mims as he embarks on his NFL journey. Brown looked back on his time as a young tackle and the time that it takes to become acclimated to the league.
“It was important for me to be here to meet him, meet his family, and be able to have that conversation with him because it’s a whirlwind,” Brown said, via Pro Football Network’s Jay Morrison. “I just wanted to be there and let him know you’ve got help here. You’re not alone. I’ll be here with you through every step of the way.”
Ted Karras’ wife, Rachel, just had the couple’s first child a few weeks ago. Karras still made it a point to meet Mims.
“It was (important) to welcome him and make him feel comfortable and ready to go,” Karras said. “It was a Friday night. I got to sneak out a little bit.
“But seriously, I can’t speak highly enough about this guy coming in,” Karras continued. “I really, really think he’s gonna be a slam dunk for this franchise for a long time.”

Dax Hill Discusses Position Change
Mike Petraglia of the Jungle Roar Podcast heard from Bengals defensive back Dax Hill, who will be switching back to his natural position at cornerback. Hill, a former first-round pick, has 11 pass deflections and two interceptions as a safety, along with 126 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and six tackles for loss in two seasons.

“I love covering. That’s something I’ve always done pretty well in college,” Hill said. “So, I’m just glad that I’m back in that same, similar role and really just looking forward to competing.”

P Brad Robbins Embraces Competition
Bengals punter Brad Robbins will compete for his spot during training camp. It’s nothing unusual for the 25-year-old, who entered the league as a sixth-round selection last season.
“Talking to my agents, talking to my parents, talking to everybody, I just assume they’re going to bring in somebody every year,” Robbins said.
“That’s the way I’m going to approach everything,” Robbins added. “You have to constantly prove it’s your job. I don’t care if I average 60 yards a punt; someone is probably gonna come in and try to take the job.”
