The New York Jets entered the season with much hope and high expectations.
With Aaron Rodgers expected to play the whole season pending injury, many fans and analysts believed that this would be the year to turn things around.
However, after a frustrating 2-3 start to the year, the front office decided to fire Robert Saleh seemingly out of the blue.
This decision has received a lot of backlash, including from former New England Patriots head coach, Bill Belichick.
Belichick talked about this in a recent segment of the “Let’s Go” podcast, expressing his frustrations with the Jets’ front office.
“Seemed like a little early to pull the trigger on that one, to me, but not out of character,” Belichick said.

He believes they should have given Saleh more of a leash, especially considering Rodgers had only played five full games with the Jets at the time of his firing.
Regardless of the team’s decision and how Belichick feels about it, this team needs to start figuring itself out if they want to make the playoffs for the first time in over a decade.
After their Monday Night Football loss to the Buffalo Bills, the Jets fell to a 2-4 record.
While it’s not necessarily a death sentence for their chances of a postseason berth, if they lose a few more games by the halfway point of the season, there might not be any turning back.
Even a player of Rodgers’ caliber can’t help them at that point.
