Bill Belichick Gives Honest Thoughts On Patriots Defense

After 24 seasons, the New England Patriots felt it was time to move on from legendary head coach Bill Belichick and officially begin rebuilding, with former player Jerod Mayo taking over Robert Kraft’s team.

After being fired by the Patriots, Belichick interviewed for some coaching vacancies around the league but came up empty during hiring season, meaning he’ll continue to wait to secure a new head coaching gig in the NFL.

In the meantime, Belichick has done the opposite of what everyone thought he’d do, as he became a member of the media, appearing on podcasts, NFL shows and the “ManningCast” of “Monday Night Football.”

While making the rounds, Belichick hasn’t talked much about the team he led for over two decades, but he recently did make some interesting comments about the Patriots defense after Mayo called his team “soft.”

Although this does seem like a direct shot at Mayo from Belichick, the Super Bowl champion gives honest opinions on all subjects, including the current state of the Patriots, which seems to be a franchise headed in the wrong direction.

Rebuilding in the NFL is never easy, as most get off to rough starts, with the Washington Commanders proving to be an exception this season.
