There is a reason why Bill Belichick is regarded as the greatest NFL coach of all time.
He simply has a knack for knowing what other teams are going to do.
That’s how he won six Super Bowls in New England.
As a guest analyst on The Pat McAfee Show for the NFL Draft in Detroit, Belichick predicted that the San Francisco 49ers would take Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall at pick No. 31 overall.
“You can’t play wide receiver in San Francisco unless you will block…whoever it is, it needs to be good with the ball in their hands, which Pearsall is,” Belichick said Thursday night.

Pearsall is a player who can do a lot of things very well.
That is why he fits in Kyle Shanahan’s scheme.
The 23-year-old is coming off of his best collegiate season at Florida, which saw him catch 65 passes for 965 yards and 4 touchdowns.
This is a guy who can play out wide or in the slot.
He can set blocks and take jet sweeps in the running game too.
But what is perhaps most fascinating about this move is that the 49ers have been trying to figure out what to do with All-Pro receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
If they do not want to pay him, they could trade him away knowing that they have a potential replacement in Pearsall.
Or, perhaps Pearsall is just another talented player coming to join an elite offense, and that’s all it is.
For the time being, quarterback Brock Purdy gets another first-round weapon.
