Wrexham Reveals Bright New Away Kit for 2025-26 Season
Wrexham AFC, under the celebrity ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, is set to embark on their first season in the Championship since 1982. After achieving an impressive three consecutive promotions, the team is looking to establish themselves in the second tier of English football.
As seen in the widely popular series “Welcome to Wrexham,” the club has made a meteoric rise from the National League to the brink of the Premier League within just four years. To celebrate this new chapter, Wrexham has introduced a retro-inspired away jersey featuring vibrant colors reminiscent of the 1980s.
The recent launch of their home kit, which features a centrally located club crest, pays homage to classic designs worn by past legends such as Joey Jones and Dixie McNeil over four decades ago. This unveiling was notably overshadowed by Welsh rivals Swansea City, who, with the help of Snoop Dogg, introduced their own kit in a surprising twist that included playful jabs at Wrexham.
On Tuesday, fans were introduced to the new away kit during a preseason match against Sydney FC, part of their tour in Australia and New Zealand. The design of the kit is inspired by the national symbol of Wales, the daffodil, which represents pride and optimism. The bright yellow and green color scheme harkens back to the late 1980s and features a neat polo collar, delicate pinstriping, and the phrase “Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau/Land of My Fathers” featured in both Welsh and English inside the neckline.
Wrexham opened their tour with a convincing victory over Melbourne Victory, winning 3-0. However, they faced a setback in their second match, losing 2-1 to Sydney at Allianz Stadium. Wrexham will next head to New Zealand to challenge Wellington Phoenix on Saturday.
