It’s 2024! The United States Men’s National Team enter another important year as they partake in 3 major tournaments between the senior team and the U-23s. The USMNT will first try to defend their title once again in the Conacaf Nations League. They will then host Copa América this summer. Finally, the U-23s head to Paris to compete in the Olympics for the first time in 16 years.
The USMNT will once again have Concacaf Nations League play in the fall along with some friendlies that many hope will see the team take on some big name opponents. With such a busy year, it’s easy to make some bold predictions about what might happen in 2024. So, let’s make those predictions!
The USMNT will reach the Copa América Final.
The USMNT will get out of Group C at Copa América, but will then turn it on to get to the final. There, they will lose to Argentina once again, but this time they will get the runners-up medals instead of play in the 3rd place match.
The USMNT will win a 3rd straight Concacaf Nations League.
No one’s stopping the USMNT at the Concacaf Nations League Finals. They will advance to the final, where they will once again have a thrilling match against Mexico but win it after 120 minutes.
The USMNT will score 60+ goals.
The USMNT scored 47 goals in 2023, and they will step up the scoring in 2024. When the year is done, they will have put over 60 goals on the board in their various matches.
Gio Reyna will make a move to Spain.
Gio Reyna has had an up-and-down career at Borussia Dortmund, and he will make the move in 2024 to a team in Spain to try and get more playing time and rediscover his groove. It will prove to be a great move for his confidence and his playing career.
The USMNT will not beat a team in the Top 10.
The USMNT will not have many opportunities to play a team in the top 10 of the FIFA world rankings, but they will get a couple of chances this year. However, they will fail to emerge victorious in those matches.
The U-23s will medal at the Olympics.
The U-23s head to the Olympics for the first time since Beijing 2008, and they will head there on a mission. That mission will be accomplished. With a couple upsets, including to hosts France, they will ride that wave to the medal podium in Paris.
