Boston Celtics Hall of Famer Shows Remorse to Jalen Brunson

Brunson Pierce

Paul Pierce has made a rare admission of being wrong, particularly when it comes to underestimating Jalen Brunson.

Pierce initially believed that the Knicks wouldn’t advance past the first round, putting his faith in Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid as the key players for the team.

However, Pierce now acknowledges his error in ranking Brunson as the third-best player in the series.

Reflecting on his mistake, Pierce said, “First off, I like to say sorry to the Knicks and Jalen Brunson because I’ve shown them no respect.”

He continued, expressing his surprise at the Knicks’ victory and Brunson’s exceptional performance in the series.

Brunson carried the Knicks in the absence of Julius Randle, the team’s main offensive threat.

Pierce admitted that he underestimated Brunson’s talent, stating, “I thought he would play well. I didn’t know he was going to play this well.”

Highlighting Brunson as a standout player in the playoffs, Pierce praised his dominance on the court and potential to be considered for the All-NBA First Team.

With impressive postseason averages, Brunson faces a new challenge against the Pacers and their top scorer, Tyrese Haliburton.

If the Knicks continue their postseason success, Brunson could emerge as a strong contender for Finals MVP.
