Bouchard Playfully Teases Draper’s Affection for Cameras

Bouchard Jests Over Draper's Love For Cameras

Eugenie Bouchard recently joked about Jack Draper‘s comments about his camera-loving confession.

Draper bagged his first ATP title this past weekend as he defeated two-time former champion Matteo Berrettini from a set down in the Stuttgart Open final.

Despite the bizarre scenes that overshadowed his winning moment during the trophy presentation, tournament organizers promised to atone for their mishandling of the prizes.

Winning in Stuttgart is not only the British sensation’s highlight of 2024. Draper, who is now the top-ranked ATP tennis player in the UK, was featured in a recent release of the British Vogue magazine.

And it is only now that tennis fans have learned that wielding a tennis racket isn’t the 22-year-old’s only interest. He has a modeling contract with IMG, a global sports and fashion management company.

In an interview after his shoot, Draper told Vogue UK. “I quite enjoy being in front of the camera, If I’m looking good, that is.” Bouchard took to X to respond to the comment condemning double standards prevailing in tennis.

“If I had said this 10 years ago, I would have been crucified.”

The Canadian’s post was written without any ill intention towards Draper, but it humorously points out that the criticism would have been blown out of proportion if she had said the same thing when she was at her peak a decade ago.

Draper, who on Monday became the youngest British No. 1 on the ATP Tour since 2009, is playing at this week’s Cinch Championships at Queen’s. He will face top seed and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in the second round on Thursday.

Bouchard, meanwhile, is commentating on Tennis Channel after she recently landed a part-time role with the tennis media house in the USA for the grass-court swing. The former Wimbledon finalist has only played on the tennis tour this season, on the ITF Tour last month.
