Bradbury Claims Victory at the French Open – Golf News

Bradbury bags French Open title - Golf News

Dan Bradbury emerged victorious at the French Open with a final round score of 66 at Le Golf National in Paris. The 25-year-old golfer from Yorkshire finished with a five-under-par round at the 2018 Ryder Cup venue, securing a one-shot victory over Sam Bairstow, Yannik Paul, Thorbjørn Olesen, and Jeff Winther.

Bradbury started strong with a birdie on the first hole and remained patient, carding pars on the next eight holes before notching another birdie on the tenth. He found himself in a crowded leaderboard but pulled ahead with three consecutive birdies from the 14th hole.

As Winther and Paul finished on 15 under, Bradbury navigated the challenging final four-hole stretch successfully, finishing at 16 under. Olesen and Bairstow settled for second place after paring the final hole.

Heading into the tournament, Bradbury was ranked 98th on the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai rankings, aiming to secure his playing rights for the next season. His victory at the French Open ensured his qualification for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

Reflecting on his performance, Bradbury shared, “When I started the PGA at Wentworth, I was in 100th place with several events ahead that could earn me valuable points. It was all about maintaining momentum and playing solid rounds, which ultimately paid off this week.”
