Brandon Aiyuk Opens Up About Contract Situation

Brandon Aiyuk Doesn't Hold Back His Thoughts On Contract Situation

Ever since the San Francisco 49ers fell to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl in February, the storied franchise has been in contract talks with star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk in an effort to secure a lucrative long-term deal.

Although Aiyuk is one of the rising stars in the NFL at the wide receiver position, the 49ers have been unwilling to agree to his contract demands, with San Francisco reportedly only willing to offer $26 million per season.

It seems as though Aiyuk is more interested in getting that number up to $30 million a year, with contract talks ongoing but still potentially far apart on coming to terms on a deal that both sides are comfortable with moving forward.

Along with contract talks not going well up to this point, there have been rumors swirling about the team’s desire to trade him rather than pay him, which hasn’t sat well with the star wideout, who took to social media to call out the team.

At this point, Aiyuk is getting increasingly frustrated with the process and admits to taking things personally on the Pivot Podcast.

“I’m taking it personal,” Aiyuk said.

The 49ers may have complicated things even more during the 2024 NFL Draft when the team brought in rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall out of the University of Florida, who might be able to replace the veteran if it comes to that.

Things seem to be getting ugly in these contract talks, and if a deal isn’t made soon, Aiyuk might ask to be traded.
