Washington Commanders fans have not had this much to be excited over since the team drafted Robert Griffin III, and even NFL players on other teams are gushing over the potential of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Disgruntled San Francisco wideout Brandon Aiyuk is one of those impressed with the potential of the second overall selection.

He and the 49ers are in a stalemate as the team apparently is not willing to open the checkbook and give in to what last year’s second-team All-Pro feels is his just compensation.

A trade is certainly possible, and Aiyuk sent a clear indication that he is interested in Washington as a destination to continue his NFL career.

According to Grant Paulsen via The Pivot, Aiyuk strongly hinted again this week that he would like to play with Daniels.

The Heisman Trophy winner electrified the SEC in his last year at LSU, and if he can stay healthy, there is a high ceiling for his NFL potential.

Could Washington become a destination for receivers who want to catch passes from the electrifying young signal caller?

It apparently is for Aiyuk, who spent his first four seasons starring for the star-studded 49ers.

He certainly proved his worth after catching 75 passes in 2023 for 1,342 yards and a sterling 17.9 yards per reception average.

However, the team cannot afford to pay everyone, and young quarterback Brock Purdy is staring at a lucrative payday in the near future.

With rumors swirling that Aiyuk is headed out of town, he may well have attempted to stack the deck in favor of a trade with the Commanders.
