The San Francisco 49ers are fresh off a disappointing and heartbreaking loss in the Super Bowl.

However, with the roster they have, they should have at least another opportunity to get over the hump.

They don’t seem to have a legitimate foe in the NFC besides perhaps the Philadelphia Eagles.

Of course, they must make sure to keep their talented players around in order for that to stay the same.

That’s why keeping Brandon Aiyuk around is so crucial for them.

Recently, the All-Pro wideout confirmed that he ‘for sure’ wanted to stay with the Niners (via TMZ Sports & JPAFootball).

That’s a breath of fresh air for the fans and the front office, as clearly it didn’t seem that way.

Aiyuk has made it seem as if the Niners are trying to get rid of him, although they’ve repeatedly stated that they want him to stay around, at least publically.

He made the rounds shortly after their Super Bowl loss, and it became loud and clear that he was trying to force his way out of town.

He’s trying to use his leverage to get a contract extension and the Niners don’t seem to be in any sort of hurry to give it to him.

They want him there, but he’s still under contract, so they could simply wait before giving him any sort of deal.

Aiyuk is one of the best route runners in the game and should be compensated as such, whether it’s by the Niners or someone else.
