New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram is eligible to sign a four-year, $208 million, extension with the team this offseason, but it is unlikely to happen, per Evan Sidery.
Reportedly, New Orleans sees Trey Murphy III as the team’s future small forward. He is eligible for a rookie-scale extension.
In his fifth year with the Pelicans, Ingram averaged 20.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in 32.9 minutes per game.
David Griffin, Pelicans Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations, said that the current roster has reached its limit and hinted at significant changes in the offseason, following first-round playoff exit against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
According to Griffin, the Pelicans need to make substantial improvements in order to be competitive in the Western Conference.
