The Pittsburgh Steelers headed into the NFL offseason determined to right the ship after another disappointing first-round loss in the NFL playoffs, which shed more light on the fact that a change needed to be made at the quarterback position.
Although the team seemed to have a lot of confidence in Kenny Pickett being the true successor to Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh, things weren’t meant to be as he didn’t progress fast enough and wanted a change of scenery, resulting in the team trading him to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Along with trading Pickett, the Steelers signed one-time Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson and traded for promising young quarterback Justin Fields in a deal with the Chicago Bears.
The Pittsburgh front office seems to no longer be willing to tolerate the team’s offensive failures, especially with team owner Art Rooney II demanding results from now on.
With the team bringing in Fields as well as Wilson, there will be a quarterback battle in Pittsburgh during training camp, but former NFL star Brandon Marshall believes there’s no way the young quarterback outworks the veteran, via Momentum Podcast.

At this point in time, it’s anyone’s guess how things will work out in Pittsburgh, as there’s no telling how much Wilson has left in the tank after two disappointing seasons with the Denver Broncos or if Fields can really lead a winning football team.
However, things will get interesting once training camp gets underway, as this quarterback controversy will be a daily headline in Pittsburgh leading up to Week 1.
