According to most of the Greek media houses, Olympiacos S.F.P. Piraeus (GBL) landed 31-year old French international 198cm swingman Evan Fournier for the upcoming season. Fournier was about to sign with Detroit Pistons in the NBA. Last season, he played for the Pistons in the NBA where in 29 games he averaged 7.2ppg, 1.9rpg, and 1.6apg.
In 2012, he was drafted by the Denver Nuggets (NBA) in the first round (20th overall).
He has also been a member of the French international program for some years. Fournier has regularly played for the French senior team since 2011 and previously for the U20 National Team back in 2012.
He represented France at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) this year. His team won Silver and his stats at that event were 6 games: 9.8ppg, 1.7rpg, 2.2apg, FGP: 36.8%, 3PT: 32.4%.
Fournier has previously played professionally in the NBA (Boston Celtics, NY Knicks, and Orlando Magic) and in France (Pole France, JSF Nanterre, and Poitiers).
Among many awards, he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-FIBA World Cup Honorable Mention in 2023.
