Breaking: Newcastle Set to Secure €80 Million Deal for Ekitike!

Newcastle Set to Complete €80 Million Signing of Hugo Ekitike

Newcastle United is reportedly close to finalizing an €80 million (approximately $93.3 million) transfer for Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, according to sources from ESPN.

His agent, Ali Barat, is currently in Newcastle working to finalize the final details of the transfer. The acquisition of the French forward would mark a new record for the club, surpassing the previous high set by Alexander Isak, who joined for €70 million three years ago.

Personal terms have already been agreed upon for a five-year contract, and the 23-year-old striker is prepared to undergo his medical examination. Paris Saint-Germain, Ekitike’s previous club, will receive 20% of the transfer fee.

Manager Eddie Howe has been on the hunt for a striker to partner with Isak and is confident that Ekitike will complement the Sweden international effectively. Reports confirm that this signing is not indicative of Isak leaving the team.

Ekitike had an impressive season in the Bundesliga during 2024-25, netting 22 goals and providing 12 assists in 48 matches across all competitions. He developed a strong partnership with Omar Marmoush, who transferred to Manchester City earlier in January.

Despite his success with the France Under-21 national team, Ekitike is still awaiting his first call-up to the senior squad by coach Didier Deschamps. He hopes that competing in the Premier League and the Champions League with Newcastle will enhance his chances of being selected.
