Breaking News: Jude Bellingham Out for 12 Weeks Following Surgery

Bellingham to Undergo Shoulder Surgery, Out for 10-12 Weeks

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham is set to have surgery on his left shoulder in London this Wednesday, as reported by sources close to the situation.

The English international is anticipated to be sidelined for a period between 10 to 12 weeks.

At 22 years old, Bellingham has faced ongoing issues with his shoulder since joining Madrid. He suffered a dislocation during a match against Rayo Vallecano in November 2023 and opted for a rehabilitation approach to remain active on the field.

Unfortunately, he was unable to fully recover from the injury. After Madrid’s 3-1 victory over Pachuca in last month’s Club World Cup, Bellingham discussed his decision to proceed with surgery. “I’m going to have the surgery done after the tournament,” he stated. “I’m tired of playing with the brace, particularly in the heat. I’m really looking forward to getting my shoulder back to normal.”

Bellingham transferred to Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023 and played a pivotal role in helping the team secure the LaLiga and Champions League titles during his first season. He netted 15 goals and provided 15 assists across 58 matches for Los Blancos last season.

Under the guidance of new coach Xabi Alonso, Real Madrid will open their LaLiga campaign at home against Osasuna on August 19. Bellingham’s return is projected for early October, meaning he will miss up to eight league matches along with the initial phase of the Champions League group stage.
