October 21, 2025 – 02:19 PM ET
Fifteen-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. has been named to Portugal’s under-16 national team for the first time. The young footballer currently plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, where his father, Cristiano Ronaldo, is a star player.
Ronaldo Jr. is one of 22 players selected to compete in the Federations Cup Tournament in Turkey, which will take place from October 30 to November 4. The tournament will see the Portuguese squad facing teams from Turkey, Wales, and England.
This latest call-up follows his previous selection for the under-15 team in May, continuing the path that could lead to him playing alongside his father in the future.
In addition to his time at Al Nassr, Ronaldo Jr. has been a part of the youth academies at Juventus and Manchester United, both clubs where his father had significant tenures before moving to the Saudi Pro League in December 2022.
Cristiano Ronaldo Sr. himself boasts an impressive international career, having debuted for the under-15 team in 2001, and has since earned 223 caps and scored 143 goals for Portugal, setting world records in men’s international football.
