Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko is departing the club, as Ajax has finalized a loan agreement for the Ukrainian player, marking the conclusion of his time in the Premier League.
Football transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the move with his signature phrase, “here we go,” stating that Zinchenko is expected to travel to Amsterdam within the next 24 hours to undergo medical evaluations before the transfer is official.
Ajax has come to a verbal arrangement with Arsenal for a loan that will extend until June, with the Dutch side agreeing to pay Zinchenko’s entire wage for the rest of the season.
Romano took to X to report: “Ajax has verbally agreed on a deal to acquire Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal, here we go! The agreement is for a loan until June, leaving Nottingham Forest. Zinchenko will fly in next 24 hours for medical tests in Amsterdam. Ajax will cover his salary; deal is in place.”
Loan at Nottingham Forest Concluded Early
This move to the Eredivisie follows the early termination of Zinchenko’s loan at Nottingham Forest, which was initially intended to last the entire season.
The 29-year-old joined the Midlands team during the summer in search of consistent playing time but failed to make a notable impact at the City Ground.
Reports suggest that Zinchenko struggled to secure a starting position with Forest, facing challenges due to injuries and fluctuating form.
As a result, the loan has been abbreviated to accommodate this new opportunity with Ajax, who acted swiftly to finalize the deal, now preparing contracts for Zinchenko’s arrival in the Netherlands.
