After completing his international duties this summer, Brenden Aaronson is set to return to Elland Road for the 2024-25 EFL Championship season with Leeds United.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that Aaronson, who spent the previous season on loan at Union Berlin in the Bundesliga, will rejoin Leeds United despite interest from other clubs.
The 23-year-old has reportedly had positive discussions with Leeds manager Daniel Farke.
Aaronson originally signed with Leeds United in 2022 for £25 million from RB Salzburg but faced challenges during the 2022-23 campaign, which saw the team relegated from the English Premier League.
During his time at Elland Road, Aaronson contributed with one goal and three assists in 40 appearances before his loan spell in Germany. Union Berlin had the option to purchase Aaronson but chose not to exercise it.
Currently with the U.S. men’s national team for the 2024 Copa America, Aaronson did not play in the recent friendly against Colombia but could feature in the upcoming match against Brazil.
Leeds United finished third in the league standings but lost 1-0 to Southampton in the EFL Championship promotion final last season.
