British Tennis Star Murray Considers Evans as Doubles Partner for French Open in Olympic Preparation

Murray Weighing Up Evans As French Open Doubles Partner To Prepare For Olympics

Andy Murray is considering playing in the French Open doubles tournament this year as part of his preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Murray has been out of action since sustaining ankle ligament injury in the Miami Open third round match against Tomas Machac. Speculations arose about Murray potentially ending his professional tennis career due to the severity of the injury.

Fortunately, Murray did not require surgery for his injury. His spokesperson confirmed in mid-April that his rehabilitation was progressing well.

The three-time Grand Slam champion plans to retire after the European summer, with the Olympic Games marking his final competitive appearance.

To prepare for his return to competition, Murray has been training on clay courts, hinting at a potential French Open comeback. He has also expressed interest in participating in the doubles event alongside fellow Brit Daniel Evans.

Despite previously avoiding clay courts to extend his playing career, Murray now sees it as an opportunity to refine his game before bidding farewell to professional tennis.

Murray’s decision to compete in the French Open doubles tournament is seen as a strategic move to enhance his chances of winning a medal at the upcoming Olympics.
