The start of training camps across the NFL are just over a month away, and the San Francisco 49ers are hoping that this year, camp will be the first step toward them finally winning their sixth Super Bowl championship.
They seemingly have almost no holes on their roster, and they have one of the best and most promising young quarterbacks in Brock Purdy.
An inspiring video gave a glimpse at the type of work Purdy has been putting in this spring in preparation for the 2024 season, per OurSF49ers.
Last offseason, Purdy was rehabbing from a torn UCL in his throwing elbow he had suffered during the 2022 NFC Championship Game, which limited how much work he could actually put in toward his game.
But he is healthy this time around, which means his offseason can be all about training.
Purdy, the last player chosen in the 2022 draft, became San Francisco’s starting QB in Week 13 of the 2022 campaign after Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a season-ending injury, and he raised eyebrows with his brilliant play.
But last season, he firmly established himself as an elite or near-elite signal-caller, even if plenty still don’t want to admit it.
The 49ers are currently dealing with the contract situation of wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who is due for an extension and still hasn’t come close to an agreement with them.
But other than that, they are poised to make another deep run in the postseason, and perhaps this time, they will not make the mistakes that cost them the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
