The Denver Broncos need a quarterback.

Fortunately for them, the class of 2024 features plenty of talent at the position.

They were rumored to be in the mix to trade up to get a quarterback, most likely J.J. McCarthy.

Nonetheless, those rumors have cooled off in the past couple of weeks, especially amid reports of the Minnesota Vikings looking to go all-in to get the Michigan product.

Now, oddsmakers believe that Sean Payton will pivot and target Oregon’s Bo Nix instead.

According to a report by Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk, the Broncos are listed as -120 favorites to get the former Auburn player, followed by the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants (+700 each), Minnesota Vikings (+950), New Orleans Saints (+1500), and Seattle Seahawks (+1600).

Nix spent five years in college with mixed results, but he fared much better in Oregon than in Auburn.

He did improve on a yearly basis, and while he doesn’t have the same upside as some of his colleagues, he could be ready to start right away.

Even so, he’s not projected to be a top-20 selection.

The Broncos have the No. 12 pick, and it could be too high for Nix, so perhaps they’ll look to trade down to get him later.

That makes some sense, as the Broncos have glaring needs at multiple positions, so being able to maximize their assets and get more young and cheap players in the first round could be the wisest decision for this organization.
