After being selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, University of Alabama star Bryce Young was thought to be the missing piece to the puzzle for the Carolina Panthers as they began the post-Christian McCaffrey era of the franchise.

Unfortunately for the Panthers, Young really struggled during his rookie season in Carolina, which looked even worse, with No. 2 overall pick CJ Stroud looking like the real deal as he led the Houston Texans into the NFL playoffs and quickly became one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

Fortunately for Young, there’s plenty of time for him to bounce back and live up to expectations of being a top pick in the NFL Draft, and it appears that he’s been offered help from the most successful quarterback in Panthers history, Cam Newton via Sheena Quick of FOX Sports Radio 1340.

“There are a lot of things that he’s given my guidance on, and he’s made himself available to me for, which I am very grateful for. Just being able to have that definitely means a lot,” Young said.

With Young getting some guidance from Newton and the team turning to Dan Canales as head coach, the talented second-year quarterback might be able to bounce back in 2024.

Although Young will definitely experience more growing pains next season, as many don’t expect Carolina to be a force to be reckoned with in 2024, he’ll have his time to shine and prove that the team made the right choice at No. 1 overall.
