Gary Trent Jr. pic

The Milwaukee Bucks have shown interest in free agent Gary Trent Jr., who is one of the more valuable role players still available in the market. The Toronto Raptors have let go of Trent Jr. after failing to reach a contract extension agreement with him. Trent Jr. has expressed his desire to not settle for a minimum contract and is seeking at least a mid-level exception deal, which has limited his options in free agency. Despite this, the Milwaukee Bucks remain interested in the shooting guard as they look to boost their shooting capabilities.

Milwaukee Bucks Showing Interest in Gary Trent Jr.

Gary Trent Jr.’s Impact

Known for his shooting abilities, Trent Jr. is considered one of the top quality shooters in the league. He is versatile, able to play at both shooting guard and small forward positions. Throughout his career, he has maintained averages of 14.3 points, a field goal percentage of 42.2 percent, and a three-point shooting percentage of 38.6 percent. His primary role is as a sharpshooter.

Trent Jr. has excelled in this role with both the Portland Trail Blazers and the Toronto Raptors. While he may not offer much in terms of defense or playmaking, he can still be a valuable asset coming off the bench in the right system. Despite his perceived value, Trent Jr. understands that some teams are in need of a player with his skill set. This raises the question of whether he would be a good fit with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Would he Fit With the Milwaukee Bucks?

After losing Malik Beasley this offseason, the Bucks are in need of additional depth. Questions have also arisen regarding the compatibility of the star duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. There is speculation that the team may part ways with Brook Lopez as they prepare for a full season under head coach Doc Rivers. In today’s NBA, having reliable shooters, especially off the bench, is crucial for any team. Therefore, the interest in Gary Trent Jr. from a depth perspective makes sense for the Milwaukee Bucks.
