Davante Adams wasn’t the only wide receiver making a big move ahead of the trade deadline, with Amari Cooper swapping Cleveland for Buffalo in a blockbuster deal.

Browns Trading For Amari Cooper

The Cleveland Browns have let their best wide receiver leave for Buffalo this week, as Amari Cooper adds another dimension to the Bills offense after the departure of Stefon Diggs.

The Bills offense has managed well since Diggs went to the Houston Texans in the summer. Despite losing their WR1, other players have stepped up for Buffalo in his absence.

Despite their positive 4-2 record to begin the NFL season, it is evident that Buffalo has been missing a star receiver to elevate their offense to the next level. With Cooper now on board, they could be a serious Super Bowl contender.

Cooper was in the final year of his contract with Cleveland, prompting the franchise to offer him to other teams this week. The Bills couldn’t resist the deal.

In the trade for Cooper, the Bills also received a 2025 sixth-round draft pick in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and seventh-round selection in 2026.

Amari Cooper has been a key part of Cleveland’s offense in the last three years. In 2023, he had a career-best season with 1250 receiving yards for the Browns.

However, Cooper struggled with touchdowns, only scoring five in 2023. At the start of this season, he has struggled for Cleveland, with just 250 receiving yards and two touchdowns in his first six games.

The shift from Deshaun Watson to Josh Allen will be a welcome change of quarterback for the five-time Pro Bowler. Now with the Bills, Cooper’s production is expected to significantly improve for a team that is better than his former side.
