Cam Heyward Shares Insights on Russell Wilson’s Performance

Cam Heyward Reveals What He's Seeing From Russell Wilson

If a fan were to place a bet on a likely candidate for NFL Comeback Player of the Year, they could do far worse than new Pittsburgh quarterback Russell Wilson.

The longtime Seattle Seahawk and Super Bowl champion rode into town in the aftermath of a disaster in Denver.

Wilson was hailed as the savior in the Mile High City but left after only two seasons and an 11-19 overall record.

But that stain could be washed away with a resurgence in Pittsburgh, and Steelers veteran Cam Heyward is one of many on the team who believe that the right man to lead the offense is in Black and Gold.

Heyward told Jim Rome that Wilson has been impressive with the Steelers and that he believes “his motivation is at an all-time high.”

The veteran defender entering his 14th season – all with the Steelers – described how amazed he is with Wilson’s approach to the game.

The new Pittsburgh quarterback enters the building each day and pays careful attention to the details of what it means to be a Steeler.

Heyward witnessed Wilson asking veteran players about the club and getting to know his wide receiving corps personally.

The AFC North is a tough division, and all four clubs were above .500 last year, so the competition will be fierce for Wilson every weekend.

But he is an obviously talented player with a track record that proves his capabilities, and unless he is truly at the end of his career, it would be foolish to write off a spectacular comeback in 2024.
